Overview

The Trishuli is Nepal’s most popular rafting river with impressive gorges, exciting rapids, and some calmer waters. Rafting the Trishuli is one of the most popular outdoor activities in Nepal. Comprised of snow melt from Mt. Ganesh and Langtang Himal ranges, it starts quite close to Kathmandu and flows east towards Pokhara and then towards Chitwan.

It is a great way to shorten the often arduous bus trip from Kathmandu to Pokhara or Chitwan. Well, you won’t avoid that bumpy bus trip entirely but you can make it a lot easier by taking the Trishuli for the first part and joining the bus later!

Gliding past green rice fields through traditional villages, past sandy beaches and under suspension bridges the Trishuli is the way to do this trip.

Some challenging rapids in parts but not overly-so this river is suitable to all paddlers, first-timers or experienced with plenty of calmer waters to simply enjoy the scenery.

And don’t forget your swimming costume! This is an ideal river for swimming and even cliff-jumping for the more adventurous souls.

Rafting in the Trishuli features Class III III+ rapids with our trained guides at the helm,  the rafting group will safely navigate the most tumultuous bends and challenging chutes. You will be navigated through famous rapids like – Upset, Ladies’ Delight, Surprise, S Bend and Pinball. The rafting provides enough action to keep keen whitewater veterans on the edge of their seats as well as being safe for children and new rafters.

This is a one day trip with time on the water from 3 to 4 hours. From the finish point a bus ride of 4 to 5 hours to Pokhara is possible and for Chitwan about 2 to 3 hours.

So make the trip to these popular destinations a lot more enjoyable and exciting and navigate the rapids down the picturesque TrishulI!
